The 12X16 Palette/Panel Holder is unique compared to our smaller sizes because it offers a center ledge that will support the weight of larger panels or stretch canvas up to 1".  There is also a latch on the front of the 12X16 size that is not part of our smaller Palette/Panel Holders.
